Plug the iPod into the PC using an Apple USB cable. Open the iTunes software on the computer. Select the iPod name in the Devices section. Check the box marked “Enable Disk Use” and click “OK.”
Click the “Start” menu and select “Computer.” Double-click on the iPod location. Select the “Tools” menu, and click “Folder Options.” Choose “View” and then check “Show hidden files and folders.”
Select the folder named “iPod_Controls” and open the sub-folder named “Music.” Right-click and choose “Copy.” Then right click and choose “Paste” to a convenient location on the PC, such as Music.
Open the folder on the PC that holds the transferred music. Right-click on the selected files and click “Properties.” Uncheck the box marked “Hidden” and press “OK.”
Import the transferred music files into your favorite media player. To load the songs into Apple iTunes, click the “File” menu and choose “Add Folder to Library.” Select the computer folder that holds to music. The media player automatically reads embedded title and artist information from the music files.
